PIOMBINO – ORTANO – PORTO AZZURRO – 3 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We set sail for our one-week itinerary from the port of Piombino. The first stop of our journey will be the Gulf of Ortano, about two hours away from Piombino.
Time for a nice bath. For those who love snorkeling Ortano offers a characteristic rock, which detaches from the coast creating an area of low seabed. Ideal for diving mask and snorkel in hand to observe the wide variety of fish that inhabit the island.
In the afternoon route to the gulf of Porto Azzurro, one of the most beautiful and characteristic villages on Elba with its quiet rada and a village animated by nightlife, good restaurants and characteristic shops of fossils and hard stones.
PORTO AZZURRO – PUNTA CALAMITA – GOLFO STELLA – 2 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We sail from Porto Azzurro to the southern side of the Island, the most natural side, with a surprising variety of beaches and coves. After about an hour of navigation we will find 'Punta della Calamita', whose name derives from the ancient iron mines. Here we will stop at the Remaiolo beach for a bath and a nice lunch in one of the most evocative views of the island. On the one hand the old mines still visible from the sea, on the other an incredible play of water colors thanks to the presence of minerals in the sandy bottom.
In the afternoon some sailing fun to climb the first of the 3 great gulfs on the south side of Elba, the Stella Gulf. Here often the predominant winds of NW channel themselves reinforcing but without generating waves. It will be fun to go up the wind to shelter in one of the beautiful beaches at the bottom of the gulf, where we will spend our second night immersed in nature, under a sea of stars.
GOLFO STELLA – LACONELLA – MARINA DI CAMPO – 2 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
After breakfast and a nice refreshing bath we leave to discover one of the most beautiful beaches on the Elbe, the beach of Laconella, in the Gulf of Lacona. Here we will find a turquoise and crystal clear water, on clear sandy bottoms that descend gently to the beach. It will be a morning of diving, swimming and relaxing, as if we were anchored in a huge pool.
In the afternoon a little more sailing to head towards Marina di Campo. The only real country on the south coast of the island. Here we will anchor ourselves to spend the night with the possibility of going down to the ground for an aperitif, who wants a dinner out, or a walk through the narrow streets and stalls that enliven the nightlife of the town.
MARINA DI CAMPO – FETOVAIA – POMONTE – MARCIANA (PORT) – 3 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
Our first stop of the day will be the famous Fetovaia beach, on the south-west tip of the island. Here we will spend the morning between a bath, a little relaxation under the sun and a good lunch.
In the early afternoon we resume sailing in the direction of the Port of Marciana. After about an hour we can stop in Pomonte for a special bath. Anchored right above a wreck of an old merchant ship you can dive with a mask and snorkel and explore an incredible underwater landscape.
After the exploration of the Pomonte wreck, we leave to reach the port of Marciana Marina. Here we can spend the night inside the marina to enjoy a nice hot shower, a dinner out and an evening in the streets of this characteristic Elban village.
MARCIANA – LA PAOLINA – VITICCIO – PORTO FERRAIO – 2 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We drop the moorings from the port of Marciana to head towards the Gulf of Procchio, the first stop is the Paolina beach. Characterized by the nearby islet covered by the Mediterranean scrub, it owes its name to the sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, who joined him on the Elbe during his exile, and was apparently enchanted by the colors of the water.
We will then move to another beach in the Gulf of Procchio, the beach of Viticcio. Another large natural swimming pool where you can swim and relax lulled by the sea. Here we will have lunch and spend part of the afternoon before leaving to arrive in the evening in the Gulf of Porto Ferraio, where we will spend the night at anchor.
PORTO FERRAIO – CAVO – PALMAIOLA –PIOMBINO – 3 HOURS OF NAVIGATION
We set sail in the morning from the port of Porto Ferraio to complete the tour of the island with a stop on the North-East tip. Here we will anchor ourselves, a little north of Cavo beach, in a wild and natural-looking inlet with a small beach surrounded by high striped cliffs, ideal for diving or having fun with small dives.
In the afternoon we still have time for a last stop at the islet of Palmaiola where you can enjoy the last bath of the week among a multitude of fish, before returning to the port of PIOMBINO.
